EPDM Hose & Quick Coupling

EPDM Hose & Quick Coupling

System Overview

The hose assembly is the only flexible element in the loop, and the part most often replaced on site. HDmann builds each assembly from peroxide cured EPDM hose, stainless ferrules and UQD quick couplings, then pressure tests every single piece before packing.
The EPDM compound is EHW194 grade, compatible with PG25 and deionized water, and specified for -20 to +100 °C continuous. Unlike a general purpose rubber hose it does not shed plasticiser into the coolant, which is what blocks cold plate micro-channels and fouling the heat exchanger.
Assemblies are available in fixed lengths from 300 mm to 2000 mm, or cut to the rack layout, with straight, 45 and 90 degree coupling ends.

Values above are typical ranges. Final selection is confirmed against the project datasheet, flow rate, coolant and rack layout before order.

Dripless Disconnect

The UQD body closes on both sides as it separates, so a service swap does not leave coolant on the rack floor or on the technician's gloves. Residual spill stays inside the coupling.

No Plasticiser Loss

Peroxide cured EPDM holds its compound under heat and pressure. Cheaper sulphur cured hose hardens, cracks at the ferrule and releases filler into the loop within two to three years.

Traceable Assemblies

Each hose carries its batch number and pressure test record. When a leak appears after commissioning, the assembly can be traced to its hose lot and test sheet instead of being replaced blind.

Application Notes

Keep the hose route inside the rack free of sharp bends and of contact with hot exhaust ducting. A hose bent below four times its outside diameter loses flow and stresses the ferrule. For blind-mate trays, the coupling must be allowed 5 to 8 mm of float so the tray can land without side load on the coupling body.
